[2011's STORIES & ART] [2010's STORIES & ART] [2009's STORIES & ART]

Welcome to the fourth annual Boom, Boom, Baby!

When we first set out to host a Big Bang in 2009, longer stories in Oz fandom were rare. We set a requirement of 25,000 words to encourage authors to stretch a little bit - to get out on the yard - to challenge themselves to produce some of the more complicated work they'd considered but hadn't committed to writing. We also wanted to get Oz fandom's increasing number of talented artists into the mix. From the beginning, the fandom stepped up to meet this challenge, and there's been amazing interest in the results.

We conceived of Boom, Boom, Baby! as a way to celebrate the fact that, even years after the show's last episode aired, there was still life in Oz. That's still true today. Our pool of participants in 2012 is one of our strongest, all veterans of previous years of Boom, Boom, Baby! That includes some lifers, who've been with us each year since the beginning. We finished this year's Big Bang with the work of three writers and three artists who've produced a diverse and fantastic spread.

Our sincerest thanks go to everyone who participated in this fourth year of the Oz Big Bang, including authors, artists and betas, friends and community members. Rustler deserves additional and unending thanks and kudos for providing a unit to house the challenge and for once again designing and producing the site.

To our readers: Thank you to those of you who've encouraged us all while we were putting this together and to those of you who are just now checking us out. We already have plans in the works for next year, and we hope to see both new and familiar faces when we throw open the doors for the 2013 round of Boom, Boom, Baby!

But for now, check out and enjoy this year's stories and artwork - and don't forget to send feedback to the authors, artists and designers who made it possible!
